Another Restaurant Closing?

I haven't been able to confirm the rumor, but I'm told a Grass Valley restaurant is closing 12/31. More later on that.

It's always hard to think of holiday stuff when the holiday is OVER, but of course that's the best time to stock up for next year. You might want to check out the gift shop inside Prospector's Nursery. It's easy to forget about, but they have wonderful gifts, decorations, ornaments, tableware, etc. The owners have wonderful taste and everything is currently half-price.

My friend Denise chided me for not mentioning that "Marley and Me" might be a little harsh for young or sensitive kids. (Think "Old Yeller") Toward the end of the movie one parent had to carry out his sobbing child.

Tried to get my car washed yesterday but evidently half of Nevada County had the same idea.

My deepest sympathy on the passing of Tabor Whittlesey. He was sharp as a tack to the end, a delight to talk to and a real friend of KNCO. He'll be missed.
