The place hasn't been open for a week...I heard the staff got pink slipped and another restaurant owner told me the beer distributor was not paid. I don't know about the hot dog/taco stand on upper Broad Street. I tried to call Eric but only got answering machine.
Speaking of restaurants, owners of the 5 Mile House are being sued.
I came across a weird site (it may be part of Facebook) but I'll bet you can Google "You know You Live in Grass Valley When" and get it. There are also some classic Police Blotters posted there. I thik it may be a Facebook group but anyone can read or join or not.
What's up with all the stores on Mill Street that were closed on Monday, President's Day? That's when people shop, when they have the day off. Crazy!
Two important meetings tonight: Ralf Swenson at NU on drastic school cuts and GV Planning Commission on Walgreens and possible new restaurant in the Basin. Or, go hear Chuck Durrett (great guy!) on co-housing and sustainability at the vets hall in NC.
Zuri,
Uhh..how they messed up is bad food and worse service. It must be hard living here where the sidewalks roll up at about 9. For us old folks it's fine. Copper Top lounge?
FYI there is an "interesting" exchange between your publisher and former editor on former editor's blog.

In a weird way, it's sad to see Dos Banditos go. Besides being a local business going under, it was mainstay of the night life for a lot of the young people in this area. They stayed open late when no one else would. In fact, Gary's in Grass Valley started closing earlier on Friday and Saturday nights because of Dos Bandito's late hours (and when I mean late, I mean all the way till 2 a.m.). They had a monopoly on that. How they messed that up is a mystery to me.

Chuck Durrett and hios wife are great folks, working to make the world a better place to live.
The Walgreens developers from Chicago... well that's another very different story!
