Grass Valley PD's Crime Scene Investigation class began last night, with the first session dedicated to DNA and taught by 2 FBI agents. Turns out there is a lot I don't know about DNA, especially mitachrondial DNA, which is passed down from the maternal side of the family...or, as the agent quipped, "Your mom gave you a little something extra!"
Some of the class notables are Supervisor John Spencer, former mayor Gerard Tassone, former mayor and now Planning Commissioner Patti Ingram, grammarian Pat Lane and my friend and neighbor Denise Cain and Carolyn the pot-bellied pig rescuer. I haven't met everyone yet.
Next week: Fingerprinting!
Oh, I forgot Chauncy..and there may be others.

County Supervisor Spencer you should really spend a little time before posting on public blogs.
Your comments about another elected official, one that represents the same town your are elected to represent on the County level wasn't called for, wasn't very nice and it wasn't funny. Reading Russ Steeles blog also shows you have a histroy of blogging things that you should have not blogged.
Please remember that you are an elected representative, a community leader and what you blog in public matters. This wasn't funny and I hope you do better in the future, because you can.

Ok, as I sit down with a smile on my face at the very witty comment I made above, I think "oh my gosh" what if someone doesn't have the same sense of humor I have. It was done jokingly, so lets have a good laugh and move on. Sorry Chauncy, I'm sure you have a spotless record.

Council person Chauncy Poston was part as well.
Pretty interesting class, something the whole family can do. That is, if you don't have a rap-sheet. They check you out before they let you come in.
I thought for sure they wouldn't let Chauncy in but they did. He could have filed off his prints before handing in his papers.

Any other notables or elected officials in the class too?
