Now, I don't really live next door to AK..but virtually I feel like I do.
First, I must tell you, I'm NOT at all star struck...and if I was, I'm a Denzil Washington kind of gal. So why Ashton Kutcher?
First of all, because he is into the "inner web" big time. He tweets on Twitter alot, and he's on the Qik (www.qik.com) search for people and you'll find him.
Next, he is the perfect demographic for me -- older than my grandchildren but younger than my children -- so I get a glimpse what a web-saavy 30 something with a lot of time and money is up to.
Do I want to be his friend? No. But I love having him next door, just a few key strokes away.
What have a learned? Well, when he and Demi were in Berlin 2 weeks ago they were in the room where Michael Jackson dangled his baby out the window..so they got a plastic baby and did a re-enactment. I saw the video on Qik.
When their real next door neighbor (I think the Idaho house) started remodeling at 7 a.m. every day they got so mad they went on their deck, asked the workers on the roof next door if they wanted breakfast, and then began hurling cartons of eggs, quarts of orange juice, etc. onto the roof. Childish? Yes. Funny? you bet! Video on Qik.
Ashton's Kabala teacher is on Twitter and sends him pearls on wisdom. Now I follow the teacher too and get those little 140 character insights each day as well.
Ashton Twittered about the private party Demi and Madonna threw after the Oscars. The most interesting to me? The very trendy new look in flower arrangements -- large cylinder glass vases (maybe 2 feet high and 6 inches around) filled with white rose buds that were wired together to be vertical. It was stunning, and the video was on Twitter.
Just one more thing? My virtual next door neighbors are a lot like you and me. On Saturday night, Ashton and Demi were reading books, with occasional breaks to Twitter or be on The Qik. Wouldn't you think they'd be doing something exciting with the rich and famous? No, they were home, sober, and reading.
There is a lot more about Twitter I could say, but getting to know Ashton and spending a few minutes with him is my guilty pleasure -- and, he's teaching me about the inner web.
Okay, I'm going to have to go follow Ashton Kutcher now ...
I was excited that Katie Couric finally started tweeting her updates -- about who she's interviewing, what's being served for lunch at the White House, etc.
It's such a bizarre glimpse into everyday lives, huh?
