I finally figured out the only way to get into this blog was to use my old (non working) e-mail. For those of you interested, my new e-mail is [email protected]. Typepad has been working on this problem for almost 2 weeks now. I've been corresponding with Kymberlie and then someone else. Frustrating!!

Have you heard of the new movement "Mad Pride?" I'm not making this up. It was in the latest Newsweek, and concerns people with mental disorders who take medication. They don't feel like themselves while on the meds, and maybe they are a little different, or a little crazy acting, but so what? That's Mad Pride, the ability to be your nutty self without using drugs that make you feel like you're swimming under water. Interesting concept...if they don't harm themselves or others, what's wrong with being different?

A friend of mine has a "next door neighbor barking dog" problem. Dog barks all the time. They don't answer their phone and obviously don't care their dog (a Golden) is disturbing the neighbors. Any suggestions on how to handle? The dog owners are new transplants from Mill Valley, if that helps.

Hopefully I can fix this with Typepad and keep going with my blog. I've gotten a lot of complaints since it's been down.
Thanks Doug, Russ, Dave C and Marty!
The dog problem is worrisome because I have always believed "a barking dog is an unhappy dog." My Golden barks about once a week and it's a single "woof!" The Mill Valleyites are home when the dog is barking...could he want in? Is he nuerotic? (hpw DO you spell that?)
Doug, I've seen your pack on your Web site (handsome!) I'll ask my frustrated friend if that's a possibility -- awfully nice of you to offer!

Dog is missing his normal barkback from other nearby dogs. He needs socializing, and so do the owners. Get them involved with www.dogsrunfree.net.
Is the dog outside or in? I could do a walk by with my pack, visible at the above website, and get much more of an idea of what's up.

Welcome back, George gave the details on your blog being down. Ellen and I really missed your insight. Glad your back on the Internet.

Barking dog: Have your friend get a hold of county animal control to discuss options. Usually a formal complaint has desired results without the dog getting thrown in the clink. Depending upon when the Mill Valleyites moved to that hood, the dog could be asserting his or her influence as the new pup on the block, or there is something bothering the dog in need of attention.
