Anna Drummond told me the shelter will be open July 4, and wouldn't that be a perfect time to give a homeless animal a home and some independence? They are full of cats, kittens, all sorts of dogs! Nice pets -- many had to be given up when people moved, a recession phenom. My rescued dog, Jackson, is just the best boy!! We've had him 3 years now and just love him to death!
People who have pets live longer and have lower blood pressure. They enrich your lives so much! And my rescued dog didn't have any bad habits, either. Now my rescued cat is another story, but we knew we were taking a "difficult" cat and she has come a long way. She loves my husband. Every morning when he's reading the paper she comes over, meows, and rolls on her back. Then he scratches her belly. That's their "special moment" together. You can set your watch by it.

only if it's not scared of firecrackers. If it is - what a welcome...
