You've got to hand it to our clerk-recorder Greg Diaz, when he throws a party he invites all his friends! Greg landed the Clerk-Recorder annual convention in Nevada County, where upwards of 150 (58 clerk recorders and their spouses) are staying at the Holiday Inn Express. They've dined at Kanes, Tofanneli's, and Miners Foundry, where they had a dinner/dance last night. I happened to be at Kane's when they showed up and I got to meet and talk with a few of them. All said they we having a great time in Nevada County. What wonderful, positive exposure for our beautiful county! My husband was bartending last night at the Foundry and he said everyone seemed to be having a great time. He was impressed by the Swing Band that entertained everyone and got them dancing to the oldies. Since all of those clerk recorders are from California, I'll bet some return after getting a "taste" of Nevada County. Way to go, Greg!! I know all the merchants appreciate what you've done.
....another nevada county tourism update...a local section meeting for the 99s (a women's pilot group) met this weekend....over 115 folks at a dinner at the Holiday Inn Express...they also toured alpaca farm, empire mine and visited Beale...chatted with some of them sunday AM as they left, they really enjoyed themselves...only thing they wanted to know was if they flew in again, how could they get from the airport to town? something to think about....
